THANKSGIVING

November. . .     “The light shined into the darkness and the darkness understood it not . . . .” one of the many biblical verses you may hear ~ A million years ago (meaning, about 15 years ago) I was standing outside a door waiting to be let in. It was the middle of winter and very dark on the porch where I stood. A roof partially draped over my head. To my right beamed a very soft porch light and just below to my left in front of me in a cement flower bed lied some dead flower due to the cold and darkness ~ the few that had managed to escaped the cold shadow were alive and flourishing. Now, these were not winter flowers, just flowers growing in the middle of winter. But what kept them growing was the warmth from that porch light that shined into their darkness. I was really amazed by that. I have always thought of that miracle or the act of whatever it took for them to stay alive. No matter how little it may seem to us ~ I guess all life has a will to live. I really can’t answer that scientifically ~ only what I saw. Now, this! I do know. The lights we shine into others darkness must have some kind of warmth healing when we expose them with it; just as our flowers were. A few of us realize that home lights are a wonderful thing should you ever had to live a day, an hour, or a week in a house without lights. A terrible feeling ~ Ah-hhhh, boy, when those lights finally shine again, wondrous things begins to happen! The first is that you smile! Ahaha oh, yeah, secondary you give praise to the lights themselves. Anyone involved in helping you, your creator . . . but to someone, you do give thanks. AND, when we shine our light into someone’s darkness, think humbly how they must feel, you’re helping them to survive one more minute, an hour or even a whole day. They may never tell you so because, sometimes words come hard for the unfortunates ~ and we all know that. And your light is appreciated ~ once again, thank you. You can never give enough thanks to anyone. Happy Thanksgiving and stay wonderfully caring ~ Thanks   Even the darkness can’t hold the light when it really wants to shine ~ Use your light this month of November ~   Be Well, Citizens
